In celebration of Ireland’s Presidency of the EU (January – June 2013) we present a programme of short films exploring impressions of Ireland and Europe in film.

Internationally renowned Danish documentarian Jon Bang Carlsen follows his young son’s year in an Irish village school.

IRELAND’S PRESIDENCY OF THE E.E.C.

Ireland as a progressive young country – with half its population under the age of 25 – is presented in this film made to mark the Presidency in 1979.

These films are included in an IFI National programme, supported by the Arts Council, which will tour arts centres, libraries and other venues through the EU Presidency period.
