JDIFF: REEL ART – DREAMTIME, REVISITED

JULIUS ZIZ, DÓNAL Ó CÉILLEACHAIR

A ‘walkabout in dreamtime Ireland’ inspired by the works of writer, poet and philosopher John Moriarty, Dreamtime, Revisited weaves together contemporary and archive material as well as featuring excerpts from some of Moriarty’s key talks. Julius Ziz and Dónal Ó Céilleachair’s film has a multifaceted appearance wholly dedicated to interpretation of Moriarty’s ‘dream-vision’ of Ireland. It is an observational film mirroring his gaze upon the face of contemporary and historical Ireland; an abstract and impressionistic film retracing the spiritual and poetic dimensions of Ireland across the folds of her landscape.

Dreamtime, Revisited was made through the Arts Council’s Reel Art Scheme.
