Irish Film Institute -FEAST YOUR EYES: JULIE & JULIA

FEAST YOUR EYES: JULIE & JULIA

Director: Nora Ephron

123 minutes, 2009, U.S.A., Colour

We are pleased to have food writer and eating enthusiast Aoife McElwain as our guest to introduce this screening. Aoife is a food blogger (I Can Has Cook) and writes for The Irish Independent’s Weekend Magazine, the movie Bites Column in The Ticket in The Irish Times and for Totally Dublin magazine.

As a nod to the IFI French Film Festival and to l’art de la cuisine Française, we are delighted to screen Julie & Julia this month for Feast Your Eyes.

Written for the screen and directed by the late Nora Ephron, the film follows the lives of two women separated by space and time but united in culinary fearlessness and passion, and, of course, butter…

For just €20 you can re-live the gastronomic journey of both Julia Child (Meryl Streep) and her latter day admirer and food blogger, Julie Powell (Amy Adams), and then enjoy some French fare in the IFI Café Bar after. On our menu for the evening will be a tribute to Julia Child: Fillet of Sole with Lemon Cream, Chicken Breast with Mushroom Cream Sauce and Swiss Cheese Quiche (v)!

Ticket bookings for this event are not available online so please call the IFI Box Office on 01 679 3477.
