In this programme, curated by Daniel Fitzpatrick who will also introduce the event, a British documentary tradition often and unfairly dismissed as sober and dull is revealed as an unlikely locus point for creativity and experimentation. Focusing on contributions by important figures such as Len Lye, Hans Richter, Humphrey Jennings, Lindsay Anderson and others, the films included here demonstrate a playfulness and a sensitivity to the possibilities of the medium that allows them to stand among even the most celebrated works of experimental cinema.

A rare and not-to-be-missed opportunity to see these essential films on the big screen.
