THE CRITICAL TAKE (FEBRUARY 2013)

The three films up for lively debate in our free monthly film club are Belgian director Michael R. Roskam’s Academy-Award-nominated drama Bullhead starring Matthias Schoenaerts (February 1st – 14th), Pablo Larraín’s stylised, humorous and acclaimed No (February 8th – 21st) based on a play about the use of advertising strategy in a crucial 1988 Chilean political campaign and Sacha Gervasi’s Hitchcock (February 8th – 28th), the story behind the making of Psycho (1960) which draws focus on the celebrated director’s relationship with his wife Alma Reville.

Our three panellists will include: Executive Officer of the Writers’ Guild of Ireland David Kavanagh; Annie Ryan, founder of The Corn Exchange Theatre Company; and IFI Cinemas Programme Assistant Kevin Coyne.
