THE CRITICAL TAKE (JULY 2012)

The three titles up for a lively debate in the IFI’s free monthly film club, The Critical Take, on July 30th are William Friedkin’s Killer Joe (showing until July 19th), an adaptation of Tracy Letts’ 1993 play of the same name with Matthew McConaughey in the central role; Nostalgia for the Light (July 13th – 26th), a Chilean documentary which uses astronomical research as the basis of an exploration into the enduring impact of Pinochet’s dictatorship; and finally In Your Hands (from July 20th onwards), a French drama starring Kristin Scott Thomas.

Our panellists this month will be RTÉ Lyric FM broadcaster Bernard Clarke, Lecturer in the School of Social Justice at University College Dublin Dr. Mimi Doran, and IFI Projectionist Paul Markey.

This is a FREE but ticketed event. Please book your seat with the IFI Box Office on 01 679 3477 or when visiting.
