When what’s now known simply as the Irish Film Institute (IFI) opened it’s doors in 1992 it was known as the Irish Film Centre. The name changed in 2003, but old habits die hard, so you’ll still occasionally find Dubliners referring to the IFC. Going back further into our history, the IFI has also been known as Film Institute of Ireland and the National Film Institute but we promise we’re sticking with IFI from now on!
