The IFI programmes and hosts a range of Festivals throughout the year. Below are just a few of the Festivals we programme.

The Carte Noire IFI French Film Festival returns for its 15th edition from November 19th to 30th. Tickets on sale NOW!

Festivals in 2014:

IFI Horrorthon took place from October 23rd to 27th.

IFI Stranger Than Fiction Documentary Film Festival, returned for its 11th edition from September 25th to 28th. 

IFI & JDIFF 2014: the IFI collaborated with the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival 2014 on a William Klein season (February 14th – 20th) and screened JDIFF’s Reel Arts programme (February 18th and 19th). 

Festivals in 2013:

The Carte Noire IFI French Film Festival took place from November 20th to December 1st. 

The IFI Family Festival took place from 11th to 15th July 2013.

IFI Stranger than Fiction Documentary Film Festival ran from from September 26th – 29th.

IFI Horrorthon ran from October 24th to 28th.

The IFI & Kinopolis 8th Polish Film Festival ran from November 5th to 9th.




This November the Carte Noire IFI French Film Festival will enter its 15th year running for 12 days and nights from November 19th – 30th 2014. The Festival is the IFI’s flagship festival, and attracts thousands to the IFI every year with its broad selection of films, many straight from Cannes, ranging from new features to documentaries and classics.

Over the years the Carte Noire IFI French Film Festival has attracted some of the most distinguished names in French cinema as guests, such as Juliette Binoche, Arnaud Desplechin, Emmanuelle Devos, Xavier Beauvois, Jane Birkin, Isabelle Carré, Jean-Claude Carrière, Michel Ciment, Jean-Pierre Darroussin, Madame Josée Dayan, Anne Fontaine, Anna Karina, Les Frères Larrieu, Michel Leclerc, Patrice Leconte, Virginie Ledoyen, Jeanne Moreau, Nicolas Philibert, Céline Sciamma, Bertrand Tavernier, Agnès Varda and Elsa Zylberstein. Countless French films have premiered in Ireland at the Festival since its opening year, including AmourL’Humanité, L’Esquive, La France, La Naissance des pieuvres, Le Nom des gens, L’Auberge Espagnole, Se Souvenir des belles choses, Caché, Quand J’étais chanteur, Un Conte de Noel, Le Goût des autres, Être et avoir, Ma Mère, Un Prophète, Film socialisme, Mammuth and Des Hommes et des dieux

The Festival will run from November 19th-30th. Programme details will be announced in early October.
