As Ireland’s national cultural institution for film, the IFI works with partners throughout Ireland to provide audiences with access to the IFI’s programmes and resources, making cultural cinema available throughout the country.
IFI National curates special programmes from the IFI Irish Film Archive, making material from this important national resource available to a wider audience. In partnership with The Model, Sligo, IFI National also develops a year-round programme of new international releases from the IFI programme at these venues.
IFI National returns to the Galway Film Fleadh on Wed 9th July at 1pm in Town Hall Theatre with a programme of films from the IFI Irish Film Archive. This inaugural programme of the Local Films for Local People Project sees collections of local-interest films being brought back to the communities in which they were made. The Local Film for Local People Project will target 4 key cultural venues annually and will appear later in Autumn and Winter 2014 in Kerry (Carnegie Arts Centre, Kenmare), Tipperary (Source Arts Centre, Thurles) and Leitrim (Glens Centre, Manorhamilton).
Organisations interested in collaborating with IFI National and Irish film programming should contact Sunniva O’Flynn, IFI Curator.
